Wedding DiamondCoast Hotel Enniscrone Co Sligo

Serena and Conor's wedding took place on one of the wettest days that I've worked at.....but their spirits were anything but damp, indeed fair play to Bridesmaids Nicola, Niamh and Andrea as well as Groomsmen Terence Kevin and John for making this wedding a very upbeat affair!

In hindsight, I think this is the only wedding where I've no shots taken outdoors....everything done indoor because of the poor weather.







Well done to Oscar and kaitlyn for their elegant entry to the ceremony.....not an easy thing for a young child to do.











You can see what I mean with regards to their being great spirits with the bridal party.....just wanna have some fun!

Something I hadn't come across before....the singing waiter and waitress. A super show and got everyone involved in the singing!











It was great to have a large spacious Bridal suite to take our photos in and well done to the Diamond Coast for this. I always enjoy working there, and it's great to get the welcome that Mary(Manageress) always gives to fellow professionals, well done and thanks lads!

Congratulations to Conor and Serena and thank you for letting me be part of your special day. Even though the weather was poor, it didn't in anyway take away from the fantastic enjoyable day that your wedding was. The very best of luck in the future lads!

Michelle and Colin's Wedding Clayton Hotel Galway

Michelle and Colin were recently married in Mervue church followed by a reception in The Clayton Hotel Galway.



Michelle and Colin were a couple that were very well organized regarding their big day, I first met up with them about 18 months prior to their wedding. 
I was delighted to be heading into Galway, and Mervue in particular as I was reared across the road in Renmore and have plenty of friends in the area.
This wedding took place on the Bank Holiday weekend in October and I was delighted that John Murphy of Avalon Video was doing the Videography....always an enjoyable day working with John.
The Weather was almost perfect for us, a little bit overcast after the ceremony and a bit on the chilly side, but once the rain was staying away in late October, we were on a winner!

As per usual, my day started in Michelle's home where I captured her preparations and thanks to Michelle's parents Michael and Mary for making me feel very welcome!



Michelle's sister Edel was Chief Bridesmaid and ably assisted Michelle on the morning of the wedding. I'm looking forward to working with Edel for her special day later this year.

After getting the family portraits done in the church, we headed out to Maree Woods with the Bridal Party to avail of the lovely autumnal colors. My apologies to the Bridal Party as there were a few midges flying around annoying them...in particular Trevor for some reason!!


















After our trip to Maree, we were back in the Clayton Hotel where the staff are always magnificent and welcoming.








A bit of friendly rivalry between Galway and Mayo was pretty evident during the speeches!!

Wedding Wineport Lodge Glasson Athlone

I had the pleasure of covering Maria and Michael's wedding in Clonberne Church Co Galway followed by a reception in the Wineport Lodge, Glasson Athlone.

It's a bonus to have good weather when covering a wedding so our day got off to a great start when the sun shone brightly and we had lovely autumnal colors on display in late October.




When editing this wedding, it was very evident that Maria was pretty happy all day long....a genuine smile was always on display. Quite often, there are a lot of images that are easy to discard from a photographers point of view, because some smiles may look fake or strained, but definitely not in Maria's case. She was happy and content ( as was Michael) and this is something that I feed off when shooting a wedding....other people's enthusiasm!!
I received a great welcome from Maria's parents Mary and Billy when I arrived in Clonberne, and Maria's brothers John Darragh and David all added to the laid back and jovial atmosphere in her home.




Ater catching some of Maria's preparations, i headed to the church to meet up with Michael and his Best Man Peter. They were doing the meet and greet with guests when I arrived and in great spirits just like Maria. Clonberne Church was 150 years old the week prior to the wedding and the church was in immaculate condition due to the celebrations that took place the week before.



I forget the name of Clonberne's Parish Priest, but he was a gentleman and made matters very easy for all concerned.......the jovial atmosphere of Maria's preparations contiuned throughout the mass with his witty and humorous remarks!

















We made the journey to Glasson Athlone after the ceremony and it was lovely to see the numerous fires that wished Maria and Michael all the best on the way!








I never worked in the Wineport Lodge before so did a reconnaissance mission there a couple of weeks before the wedding......the weather was pretty awful that day and I was worried about our photo opportunities if we came up agains something similar. Luckily, the day was fantastic and we were able to make the most of the majestic settings that it offers.
My work finished when guests sat for their meal but they were left rocking into the early hours of the morning with one of Galways most established wedding band, "Face Value".






















Maria, you were very commending of my work and manner on the day of the wedding and in subsequent emails....but the pleasure was all mine. Witnessing your wedding day from close quarters and feeding off the fantastic charisma that you and Michael had on your special day was pretty cool...... and to have a front row seat for all of it, how lucky was I! Thank you so much, I wish you both the very best!
