I've known Áine for almost twenty years....the length of time I've been with my wife, so I was delighted to be working at her recent wedding. A very pretty and welcoming person, Áine was a delight to be around (as was Ciarán of course) on the day of her wedding which I enjoyed immensely.
As Cornamona has some of the finest landscape views that the west of Ireland has to offer, I was enthusiastic about what images we could possible capture on the day of the wedding. Indeed, anytime I met Áine and Ciaran, there was a particular shot in Maam Valley that I was eager to get and kept gently reminding them of it (....probably in the hope of brainwashing them). Alas, the weather Gods weren't with us on the day of the wedding and unfortunately all of our images were captured indoors.....gale force winds and heavy rain meant no excursions outside!
The All Ireland Junior Football trophy showed up prominently the morning of the wedding.
Young Áine( bridesmaid Emer's little girl) naps and is oblivious to the preparations taking place.
Always great working with Caroline Coyne (one of the best make up artist's that I've come across).Caroline is a first cousin with my wife so we regularly cross paths and it's always a treat to be in her company. I was very impressed with the mobile lighting unit that she had with her on this wedding. As it's winter and quite dark when she's preparing her clients, good light can sometimes be a problem.....obviously not with Caroline as she supplies her own....a true pro who takes her work very seriously.
Ciarán and his men arriving at the church (and it's not raining!!)
I did a lot of reminiscing on this wedding day..... a lot of parallels with Aine's and mine. same church and same wedding venue!
Thanks Áine and Ciarán for being a great couple to work with. I think the only disappointing thing on your wedding day was the weather.....but one would think that you were getting married on the hottest day of the year such was your positive spirits which was a treat to witness at close quarters. Thanks lads for letting me play a role on such a special day for you both.
